Bloodhounds1 Episode 2 begins with Kim Gun-woo recovering from the brutal attack that left a deep scar across his face. His mother is devastated by what happened and blames herself for bringing him into the dangerous situation. At the hospital, Gun-woo receives treatment for his injuries, but the doctor explains that a more expensive procedure could reduce the severity of the scar. Gun-woo refuses because he knows his family cannot afford another major expense. Despite the pain and humiliation, he remains focused on protecting his mother rather than himself. Hong Woo-jin visits Gun-woo and is furious when he sees the extent of his friend's injuries. Woo-jin wants to report the loan sharks to the police, but Gun-woo refuses. The men who attacked him warned that his mother would be killed if he involved the authorities. Woo-jin then examines the loan agreement and begins to understand how Gun-woo's mother was trapped. The contract contains complicated conditions and hidden clauses that allow Smile Capital to demand far more money than the original loan. What initially appears to be a legitimate financial agreement is actually a carefully designed scam intended to trap desperate borrowers. Determined to help Gun-woo pay off the debt, Woo-jin contacts someone who may be able to provide assistance. This leads the two young boxers to President Choi Tae-ho, a former major player in the private lending world who has abandoned his old methods. Unlike predatory lenders such as Myeong-gil, President Choi now operates an interest-free lending business designed to help people who are genuinely struggling. His organisation lends money to people in need without the crushing interest and hidden conditions used by Smile Capital. Gun-woo and Woo-jin meet members of President Choi's organisation, including Moon Gwang-moo, one of his trusted men. Gun-woo learns that President Choi is willing to help with his mother's debt, but there is an expectation that the young men prove themselves. Their boxing ability, discipline, courage, and loyalty make an impression, and President Choi begins considering whether the two fighters can be trusted to work alongside his organisation. At the same time, the episode expands the story surrounding Kim Myeong-gil. His ambition reaches beyond ordinary loan sharking, and his dealings with wealthy and influential people reveal how far Smile Capital's network extends. Myeong-gil has an increasingly tense relationship with Hong Min-beom, the wealthy heir of a powerful family. Min-beom treats Myeong-gil with arrogance and looks down on him, humiliating him during their meeting. Myeong-gil is forced to endure the insult, but the experience fuels his anger and desire for revenge. President Choi's granddaughter Cha Hyeon-ju is also investigating a suspicious borrower connected to the organisation. Her investigation leads her toward a much larger scam involving people who prey on the homeless. The criminals approach vulnerable people and collect their identification cards by pretending to represent a government programme that will provide monthly financial assistance. Once the cards are obtained, the criminals can use the identities of homeless people to take out loans and create debts in their names. Hyeon-ju discovers that one borrower connected to the scheme has accumulated hundreds of millions of won in loans using the identities of people who have little ability to defend themselves. The operation is far more organised than a simple case of individual fraud, and its connection to Smile Capital becomes increasingly suspicious. President Choi wants Hyeon-ju to stay away from the dangerous world he once belonged to, but she is determined to uncover the truth and protect people being exploited by the criminals. Gun-woo and Woo-jin are eventually asked to investigate the people involved in the identity-card scam. They follow the suspected criminals through the city and eventually observe them approaching homeless people. The men pretend to be government employees and promise the victims regular payments if they hand over their identification cards. Gun-woo immediately recognises the cruelty of what is happening and becomes increasingly angry as he watches vulnerable people being manipulated. When one of the homeless men refuses to cooperate, the criminals turn violent and begin beating him. Gun-woo can no longer stand by and watch. He rushes forward to protect the man, while Woo-jin follows him into the confrontation. Their boxing skills quickly become useful outside the ring as they take on the attackers. The fight makes it clear that Gun-woo's greatest strength is not simply his physical ability but his instinct to protect people who cannot protect themselves. Meanwhile, President Choi continues evaluating Gun-woo and Woo-jin. Their willingness to help strangers despite the danger impresses him, while their strong sense of loyalty reminds him of the kind of people he once trusted. Gun-woo's determination to free his mother from Smile Capital's debt also gives President Choi another reason to take the young boxer seriously. Episode 2 deepens the conflict between the two sides. Gun-woo and Woo-jin begin moving closer to President Choi's organisation, while Myeong-gil becomes increasingly determined to expand his power and settle the humiliation caused by Hong Min-beom. The episode also reveals that Smile Capital's activities involve more than aggressive debt collection: vulnerable people are being deliberately exploited through organised financial scams. By the end of Episode 2, Gun-woo and Woo-jin are no longer simply two young boxers caught in a personal debt problem. Their investigation has placed them inside a much larger fight against an organised network that preys on the poor and powerless. Their courage and friendship begin attracting President Choi's attention, setting the stage for the dangerous partnership that will define the next stage of their battle against Myeong-gil.
