📖 Episode Synopsis

Crush Episode 2 continues Sang Wuyan's unexpected encounters with Su Nianqin, the mysterious and handsome man who has already caught her attention. As she begins her internship at a special school, Wuyan discovers that the man she met near the park is not simply a stranger with an unusual personality. He is a substitute teacher at the school, helping visually impaired students learn Braille. Seeing how confidently he navigates his surroundings despite his visual impairment makes her admire him even more. Their reunion gives Wuyan an opportunity to learn about him, but Su Nianqin's reserved manner makes it clear that he has little interest in welcoming her curiosity. After returning to her dormitory, Wuyan tells her roommate Cheng Yin about the attractive man she encountered. She excitedly discusses his appearance and personality, wondering about his background and why he seems so distant. Cheng Yin quickly notices how fascinated Wuyan has become and teases her for being unable to stop talking about him. Wuyan, however, cannot help thinking about Su Nianqin. She believes he may have misunderstood her intentions and worries that he considers her an annoying stranger who keeps appearing wherever he goes. The following day, Wuyan hears beautiful piano music coming from a classroom at the school. Drawn by the melody, she follows the sound and discovers Su Nianqin playing the piano while working on an original Chinese-style composition. The music reveals another side of his personality: beneath his cold exterior is a gifted musician with a deep sensitivity to sound. Wuyan is captivated by the performance, but her unexpected arrival interrupts his concentration. Su Nianqin coldly asks her to leave, leaving her embarrassed and irritated by his dismissive attitude. Although she is attracted to him, she quickly realises that getting close to him will not be easy. Meanwhile, changes are taking place at the radio station where Wuyan works as an assistant. When she arrives for her next shift, she learns that she has been transferred to the news department. Nie Xi explains that the move is intended to broaden her experience, develop her professional abilities, and help her gain a better understanding of broadcasting. Wuyan accepts the reassignment, hoping to make the most of the opportunity. However, she receives an unpleasant surprise when she discovers that Xu Qian, the friend whose recent actions have deeply hurt her, is also working in the department. Wuyan, Xu Qian, and Wei Hao were once an inseparable group of friends dating back to their school years. Their friendship has deteriorated after Wuyan witnessed Wei Hao and Xu Qian kissing. The incident left Wuyan feeling betrayed, especially because she had been close to both of them for so long. Xu Qian feels guilty and wants to explain herself, but the distance between the two women makes reconciliation difficult. Wuyan is unwilling to accept an easy excuse for something that has damaged a friendship she once treasured. After finishing her work at the radio station, Wuyan heads to a birthday gathering for her roommate Li Lulu, hoping to enjoy the evening without thinking about her personal troubles. To her surprise, Wei Hao is also there. His presence immediately revives the painful memories she has been trying to put aside. When Wei Hao sings one of Wuyan's favourite songs, the emotional atmosphere becomes too much for her, and she leaves the gathering in frustration. Wei Hao follows her outside and attempts to explain that the kiss with Xu Qian happened because they were drunk. He insists that it was a mistake rather than evidence of a deeper relationship. Wuyan refuses to accept his explanation. She points out the contradictions in his story and makes it clear that she no longer trusts his attempts to minimise what happened. Their conversation ends without reconciliation, leaving their former friendship even more strained. Xu Qian's decision to step away from the band she shared with Wei Hao further reflects the damage the incident has caused, although it does not immediately repair her relationship with Wuyan. Away from the radio station, Su Nianqin continues his work at the special school. When Wuyan is asked to substitute for a music lesson, she tries to involve him in teaching the children. She knows he can play the piano and hopes his musical ability will make the lesson more enjoyable. However, Su Nianqin has already overheard Wuyan speaking about the internship as something she needs to complete to earn academic credit. Her words leave him questioning whether she genuinely cares about the children or is simply fulfilling a university requirement. When Wuyan asks him to accompany her on the piano, Su Nianqin initially refuses. Eventually, he returns to the classroom and agrees to play while she teaches the children to sing Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star. Wuyan's singing is noticeably off-key, creating a humorous situation as Su Nianqin attempts to follow her melody on the piano. His musical precision clashes hilariously with her enthusiastic but inaccurate singing, and the children begin following her unusual pitch as well. Despite his irritation, Su Nianqin continues playing rather than abandoning the children and the lesson. Once the class ends, he confronts Wuyan about her attitude toward the internship. He criticises her for treating the experience as a requirement to complete instead of recognising the responsibility involved in teaching children who need attention, patience, and genuine care. His blunt words force Wuyan to consider whether good intentions alone are enough when working with vulnerable students. Episode 2 deepens the contrast between Wuyan's cheerful, impulsive personality and Nianqin's guarded, demanding nature. It also develops the emotional conflict between Wuyan, Wei Hao, and Xu Qian while establishing the special school as an important part of the central couple's developing relationship. Through awkward encounters, piano music, classroom humour, and unresolved friendships, the episode brings Wuyan and Nianqin closer while showing that attraction alone will not be enough to overcome their differences.
