📖 Episode Synopsis

The final chapter begins with Nam Da-reum facing a life-changing career opportunity. After HAN specifically requests her for an overseas assignment at Maison HAN's Paris headquarters, Da-reum asks Kang Ha-gi what he thinks about her applying. Although Ha-gi's heart sinks at the thought of being separated from her so soon after they finally became a couple, he refuses to let his own fear stand in the way of her dream. As CEO, he tells her that working in a different environment will help her grow and that an employee's growth ultimately benefits the company as well. He encourages her to apply, even though privately he struggles with the possibility of losing the everyday moments they have only just begun to enjoy together. Ha-gi's friends immediately realize how difficult the situation is for him. They tease him about long-distance relationships and warn that Da-reum could meet someone else in Paris, while Ha-gi insists that he is fine with her leaving. His brave attitude quickly falls apart when he is alone with his feelings. He worries about Da-reum being far away, imagines other people approaching her, and struggles to accept that supporting her dream means allowing her to leave. After drinking with his friends, his normally controlled personality disappears and he drunkenly admits how difficult it is to let Da-reum go. His friends realize that he is not indifferent at all; he is simply trying to be strong because he loves her too much to become the reason she gives up an important opportunity. Da-reum initially hesitates to submit her application. She knows Paris could help her become a better designer and expose her to a completely new environment, but she also worries about leaving Ha-gi, her friends, and APPELLO behind. She ultimately decides not to apply before the deadline, convincing herself that staying in Korea with the people she loves is enough. However, Ha-gi realizes what she has sacrificed and refuses to allow his relationship with her to become a limitation. He meets her and admits that he was afraid of saying goodbye because he feared it could become a permanent separation. Yet when she talked about Paris, he saw genuine excitement in her eyes and understood that the happiness on her face was one of the reasons he fell in love with her. Instead of asking her to stay, he tells her to go, experience everything she can, and become even better at the work she loves. Da-reum finally understands that Ha-gi is not pushing her away; he is trusting her. She agrees to believe in their relationship and promises that distance will not make them let go of each other. Ha-gi tells her that even if she leaves, they will simply hold each other more tightly and trust each other more. With his encouragement, Da-reum accepts the Paris opportunity. Their friends celebrate her decision, while Ha-gi prepares for the separation in his own humorous way, buying her travel supplies, medicine, a guidebook, and other necessities. Da-reum takes the traditional knot that symbolizes their connection with her to Paris, promising that it will make her feel as though they are still together. At the same time, Lee Chan finally takes another major step toward the future he has been avoiding. After years of D.N.X being separated, Chan realizes that running away from the group and from his regrets will not heal the past. He apologizes to Roy for the way he left him behind and admits that both of them were young and frightened when D.N.X fell apart. Chan asks Roy to stop hiding and return to the group. Although Roy worries that the other members may never forgive him, Chan knows they have been waiting for him all along. The former members finally reunite, with Roy becoming the final piece needed for D.N.X to stand together again. Before leaving for Paris, Da-reum and Chan share an emotional moment that brings her original fan journey full circle. Chan reveals that the pendant Da-reum once gave him on his birthday stayed with him for years and became one of the things that helped him endure his darkest period. He explains that knowing a fan cared enough to remember him gave him courage to return to the stage. Da-reum also realizes that her own dream has changed. She no longer wants simply to stand close to her favorite celebrity; she wants to create things that awaken passion in other people's hearts. Chan encourages her to follow that feeling and reminds her that she has already proven how serious she is about her work. Da-reum leaves for Paris and begins working directly with HAN. The assignment is demanding, but she discovers that she genuinely enjoys the challenge. Ha-gi stays behind in Korea and keeps in touch with her through video calls. He gives her a playful mission to take care of a plant while she is away, asking her to send photos whenever a new leaf or bud appears. Their long-distance relationship becomes a series of small daily connections, with both of them learning that being apart does not have to mean being emotionally distant. Da-reum's confidence grows as she handles increasingly difficult assignments, while Ha-gi learns to wait patiently rather than allowing his fear of separation to control him. Back in Korea, D.N.X prepares for its long-awaited comeback. The group plans its first performance in years, but an online threat forces the original venue to be cancelled. The team quickly moves the showcase to a smaller concert hall, creating a new challenge for the stage design and merchandise. Da-reum's work becomes part of the comeback as APPELLO collaborates with D.N.X. The merchandise is redesigned around the group's fan song "YOU," including details inspired by the lyrics and the star-shaped pendant connected to Da-reum's history with Chan. Although the stage is smaller than originally planned, Da-reum turns the limitation into an advantage by creating a more intimate experience that allows the fans to see the members up close. After completing her Paris assignment, Da-reum returns to Korea earlier than expected because she misses Ha-gi. She surprises her coworkers at the welcome gathering and openly admits that she moved her flight forward because she wanted to see her boyfriend. Her return also marks the beginning of an exciting new professional chapter. Da-reum is officially appointed as the project manager for the D.N.X collaboration. When she presents the merchandise concept to Chan and the other members, she makes it clear that she will not handle the project merely as a fan. She will approach it as a professional manager who understands the feelings and expectations of D.N.X's fans. Chan proudly accepts her as his project manager, showing how far both of them have come since the beginning of the story. The long-awaited D.N.X reunion finally reaches the stage. Chan, Roy, and the other members stand together as a complete five-member group for the first time in years, while their longtime fans fill the venue with cheers. Da-reum watches emotionally as the idol group that once helped her survive lonely years finally performs again. D.N.X opens its comeback performance with "YOU," a song dedicated to the fans who waited for them through their long absence and to the people who helped them find their way back to the stage. The performance becomes a celebration of second chances, friendship, fandom, and the courage to begin again. Watching D.N.X perform, Da-reum realizes how much her own life has changed. She entered APPELLO because she wanted to meet her bias, believing that becoming close to Lee Chan would be the fulfillment of her dream. Instead, she discovered her own talents, built a career in fashion, found love with Ha-gi, and ultimately became the professional responsible for one of the biggest projects involving the group she had admired for twelve years. She is no longer simply someone standing in the audience looking toward a distant star. She has learned to shine through her own work and become a source of light for others. The story ends with Ha-gi and Da-reum taking a quiet walk together after everything they have overcome. Ha-gi stops and gives Da-reum a ring, explaining that he does not simply want to be the person she dates; he wants to be the place she can return to every day. He asks her to stay by his side, and Da-reum happily accepts. The two share a kiss and promise to continue walking through life together. After a journey that began with a fan chasing the dream of meeting her favorite idol, Da-reum finds something even more meaningful: her own career, her own light, and a partner who supports her dreams. My Bias, My Boss closes with Ha-gi and Da-reum choosing each other while allowing each other the freedom to grow, giving the series its happy and hopeful ending.
