My Bias My Boss Episode 2 picks up after Nam Da-reum finally gets the chance to meet her longtime idol Lee Chan at APPELLO. Instead of simply enjoying the excitement of meeting her bias, Da-reum immediately sets herself a new target: becoming the company's outstanding employee so she can qualify for an upcoming overseas training opportunity with Chan. Since the outstanding employee is personally selected by CEO Kang Ha-gi, Da-reum realizes that the one person she needs to impress is the very boss she has already had several awkward encounters with. After hearing rumors about Ha-gi and Lee Chan, she begins to believe that her strict CEO may secretly have feelings for her beloved idol. A company group photograph seems to support her theory when she notices Ha-gi looking toward Chan in a particular way. Then she discovers a letter containing the words 'I love you, Chan,' which makes her suspicions even stronger. The misunderstanding reaches another level when Da-reum sees Ha-gi wiping his eyes while looking at a large Lee Chan banner at APPELLO. To Da-reum, the evidence is overwhelming. Her enthusiasm may not be evidence of espionage after all, but simply the result of someone desperately wanting to prove herself. Da-reum's persistence gradually begins to affect Ha-gi as well. Although he continues to maintain his cold and professional exterior, he starts seeing the sincerity behind her actions. His suspicion slowly gives way to curiosity, and he begins paying closer attention to the employee who has somehow managed to disrupt his normally controlled routine. After working late one evening, Da-reum finds herself walking home in the rain. Ha-gi accompanies her, and their conversation becomes noticeably different from their previous tense interactions. Instead of treating her simply as a suspicious employee, he encourages her after she becomes discouraged over a mistake at work. His unexpected kindness catches Da-reum off guard and allows her to see another side of the CEO she had previously considered difficult and intimidating. When Chan later notices the same necklace around Da-reum's neck, he realizes that she is the very fan he met back then. The discovery changes his understanding of the new APPELLO employee. Da-reum is not simply a recent fan who joined the company because of him — she is someone who has continued supporting him since that earlier period of his life. Chan expresses his gratitude to Da-reum and gives her his phone number, leaving the next step in their relationship up to her.
