My Bias My Boss Episode 9 begins with Nam Da-reum and Kang Ha-gi finally acknowledging their feelings and starting a relationship. Because Ha-gi is the CEO of APPELLO and Da-reum is his employee, they immediately agree to keep their romance secret at work. Ha-gi admits that he has wanted to hold Da-reum's hand for a long time but deliberately held himself back because he did not want to cross the line between a CEO and an employee. Now that they are together, he asks her not to let go of his hand no matter how difficult things become. The new couple creates a strict set of rules for their secret office romance. They agree not to touch each other at work, avoid standing too close together when other employees are nearby, and keep their private conversations away from company communication channels. Da-reum is especially worried that their relationship could become office gossip and damage Ha-gi's reputation as CEO. Ha-gi, however, immediately struggles to follow the rules because he is much more affectionate and excited about their relationship than he expected. The secret romance quickly becomes difficult to hide. Ha-gi accidentally sends messages that reveal his feelings, searches for romantic night-view locations and repeatedly finds excuses to be near Da-reum. The employees begin noticing the unusual behavior between their CEO and Da-reum, even though they pretend not to see anything. The office staff quietly realize that the two are dating long before Da-reum and Ha-gi understand how obvious they are being. Da-reum officially returns to APPELLO after the controversy surrounding the dating scandal. Her resignation was rejected because she had not completed the company's electronic approval process, and her absence had technically been recorded as unexcused. Rather than complain, Da-reum promises to follow all company procedures from now on and even offers to work overtime to make up for the time she missed. The employees warmly welcome Da-reum back. They tell her how much they missed her and reveal that they were worried about her throughout the scandal. Ha-gi maintains his strict CEO persona in front of everyone, but his colleagues know that he had been deeply concerned about Da-reum's wellbeing. Meanwhile, APPELLO is facing a new business crisis. SE Corporation has been aggressively acquiring brands that previously worked exclusively with APPELLO. The company realizes that most of its former partners are moving directly to SE, strengthening the suspicion that there may still be someone inside APPELLO leaking confidential information. Ha-gi refuses to allow the company to remain on the defensive. Instead of focusing entirely on identifying the spy, he decides that APPELLO needs to fight back commercially. He identifies HAN as the key opportunity. HAN is one of the hottest names in the international fashion industry and is especially influential in the Paris fashion scene. SE Corporation is also trying to secure the brand, meaning that APPELLO must move quickly if it wants to regain its competitive position. Ha-gi announces the creation of a special task force dedicated to winning HAN for APPELLO. Employees from different departments are invited to participate, and Da-reum becomes involved in preparing the proposal. The project gives her an opportunity to prove herself professionally after returning to the company. At the same time, APPELLO's investigation into the previous dating-photo leak finally produces a breakthrough. Security records and CCTV evidence reveal that Seo Hye-soo used a personal email account in violation of company security rules. Ha-gi confronts her about breaking protocol and questions whether she was responsible for the photos that caused the scandal. Hye-soo initially denies being a spy and insists that she never intended to damage the company. Under pressure, however, she admits that she was responsible for leaking the dating photos. She explains that she was angry because Ha-gi had rejected her feelings and because she became jealous after seeing him meeting privately with Da-reum. A reporter had given her a business card, and in a moment of anger she sent the photographs without realizing how enormous the consequences would become. Ha-gi is disappointed by Hye-soo's actions. He explains that the scandal caused serious financial and reputational damage to APPELLO and tells her that she will be disciplined according to company policy. He also tells her to think carefully about who deserves her apology rather than simply apologizing to him. Although Hye-soo is responsible for leaking the photographs, she is not the corporate spy APPELLO is still searching for. The discovery therefore solves one part of the scandal while leaving the larger mystery unresolved. APPELLO continues looking for the person who may be providing SE Corporation with confidential business information. Da-reum's return also brings the continuation of the traditional-knot project. Master Im Cheong-rim visits the APPELLO event and praises the work Da-reum helped develop. She tells Da-reum that the project turned out better than expected and that she would have canceled the event if Da-reum had not followed through. The successful event becomes another sign that Da-reum has earned her place at APPELLO through her own work. Da-reum also has to work with Lee Chan during the knot event. Chan is supportive and professional, but the emotional distance between them is now obvious. Their previous relationship as longtime fan and idol has changed completely because Da-reum has chosen Ha-gi. Chan still cares deeply for her, but he understands that she now has feelings for someone else. Chan tries to be honest with Da-reum about what she means to him. He tells her that he no longer wants them to hide behind the old labels of fan and idol and admits that he still wants her to remain by his side. However, Da-reum explains that she still sees him more as the idol she admired for years than as a romantic partner. Her feelings for Ha-gi are fundamentally different because she can be completely herself around him. The conversation hurts Chan deeply. He asks Da-reum why she chose Ha-gi instead of him. Chan reminds her that he and Ha-gi had known her first and that he believed their connection had been special. He cannot understand why the woman who once admired him for so many years could now choose his best friend. Da-reum explains that Chan always looked at her as someone who needed to be protected. His concern made her grateful, but it also made her feel as though he saw her as someone unfortunate who needed rescuing. Ha-gi was different. He never treated her with pity. He liked her for who she was and allowed her to laugh, cry, complain and argue without making her feel weak. Da-reum tells Chan that she wants a relationship in which she can share everything naturally with the person she loves. She could not easily do that with him, but she feels completely comfortable with Ha-gi. Chan finally understands that the difference is not simply about timing — Da-reum's heart genuinely moved in another direction. The HAN project becomes increasingly important as APPELLO prepares its proposal. The brand is highly mysterious because its creative director keeps a very low public profile. Unlike ordinary fashion labels, HAN has built an entire aesthetic and identity around mystery, making it one of the most desirable names in the industry. Da-reum and her colleagues work late preparing the HAN task-force proposal. Hye-soo, now isolated because of the scandal leak, struggles with her own proposal and finds herself unable to move forward. Da-reum eventually chooses to help her rather than simply ignoring her after what happened. Da-reum asks Hye-soo to work on the HAN proposal together. Hye-soo is surprised that Da-reum is willing to help her after the damage she caused. Da-reum explains that she understands what it feels like to be isolated and believes that refusing to help will only make Hye-soo's situation worse. Their collaboration reveals another side of Da-reum. Despite being hurt by Hye-soo's actions, she chooses compassion instead of revenge. Ha-gi notices her behavior and realizes once again why he fell for her. He tells her that she has a remarkable ability to comfort other people even when she herself has been hurt. Ha-gi then opens up about his own past. He explains that he spent much of his life deliberately avoiding close relationships because the people he cared about eventually left him. Rather than risk being hurt again, he threw himself into work and built emotional walls around himself. Da-reum is one of the few people who managed to break through those walls. Ha-gi reminds Da-reum of the bottle of wine she gave him earlier. She remembers that it was supposed to be the wine that helps love come true. Ha-gi tells her that, in a way, it actually worked. Their relationship has now become real, turning what Da-reum once intended as a simple gift into an unexpectedly meaningful symbol of their romance. Meanwhile, Chan is struggling to accept the change in his relationship with Da-reum. He sees the growing closeness between Da-reum and Ha-gi and realizes that the two are genuinely happy together. Although he tells Da-reum that he wants her to be happy, his jealousy continues to grow. Chan eventually comes face-to-face with someone from Ha-gi's past. Han Jeong-yeon has returned to Korea after many years abroad. She and Chan knew each other when they were young, and she immediately recognizes him. She remembers that Chan, Ha-gi and she were once inseparable friends and recalls the time they spent together as teenagers. Jeong-yeon reveals that she has returned to Korea only recently and is staying at a hotel near APPELLO. Her reunion with Chan is friendly but carries the weight of their shared history. She asks about Ha-gi and is surprised to learn how much his life has changed. The episode reveals that Jeong-yeon was not simply an old acquaintance. She was Ha-gi's first love. Her unexpected return therefore creates a new threat to the relationship Da-reum has only just begun. Chan recognizes that Jeong-yeon's appearance could change the balance between him, Da-reum and Ha-gi. As the HAN competition intensifies, APPELLO suffers another setback when the company learns that HAN has been communicating with SE Corporation as well. Ha-gi realizes that winning HAN will be extremely difficult, but he refuses to surrender. The task force continues refining its proposal while Da-reum works hard to prove that APPELLO can offer HAN something unique. The episode ends when Ha-gi learns that HAN's CEO is coming directly to APPELLO. He prepares to meet the representative, expecting a difficult but important business negotiation. When the CEO finally enters the room, Ha-gi is stunned. The woman standing in front of him is Han Jeong-yeon — his first love. Jeong-yeon calmly introduces herself as HAN's CEO and greets Ha-gi as though their years apart have simply disappeared. Ha-gi is visibly shaken by her arrival, while Da-reum has no idea yet how deeply Jeong-yeon's return is connected to her boyfriend's past. Episode 9 ends by transforming the romantic triangle into a much more complicated relationship. Da-reum and Ha-gi have finally begun their secret office romance, but their happiness is immediately threatened by Ha-gi's first love returning as the powerful CEO of the very brand APPELLO desperately needs. At the same time, Chan is struggling with jealousy and unresolved feelings, while the mystery surrounding APPELLO's corporate spy remains unsolved.
