Episode 12 of Our Sticky Love brings the story of Tae-ha and Eun-sae to its emotional and dangerous conclusion. After Eun-sae regains her memories and turns the investigation back against Baek Sang-gil, the final battle is no longer about protecting an amnesiac prosecutor. Eun-sae now knows exactly who she is, what Sang-gil did to her, and what Tae-ha sacrificed to save her. With her memories restored, Eun-sae uses the evidence she secretly preserved to bring Sang-gil and the corrupt mayor down. The incriminating recording from Sang-gil's meeting with the mayor may have been destroyed, but Eun-sae had already backed up the footage. She uses that evidence to have both men arrested, pursuing severe punishment for their crimes. Sang-gil faces the possibility of life imprisonment for the murders and other crimes committed while protecting his criminal empire, while the mayor faces a lengthy prison sentence. But Sang-gil's defeat is not the end of the danger. Before he can be properly sentenced, he escapes while being transported and immediately heads for Taffy Village. His goal is simple and deeply personal: he wants revenge on Tae-ha for betraying him and intends to kill the man who spent fourteen years as his most trusted right-hand man. Sang-gil reaches Tae-ha's grandmother's home and takes her hostage. While waiting for Tae-ha, however, he encounters something that completely changes his understanding of the man he has spent years commanding. Among the belongings in the house are photographs of Tae-ha as a baby. The pictures force Sang-gil to confront a truth he never knew: Tae-ha is actually his biological son. Flashbacks reveal the history behind the shocking connection. Before becoming the ruthless criminal boss known as Baek Sang-gil, he was once a boxer. Tae-ha's mother was connected to him during that period, but after Sang-gil cheated in a boxing match, she left him. When he discovered that she was raising his child, he offered money, but she refused to raise Tae-ha using his dirty money. She was later taken in by Go Yeong-hong, the woman Tae-ha has always believed to be his grandmother. Tae-ha's mother died when he was young, and Go Yeong-hong chose to raise the boy as her own despite not being his biological grandmother. The revelation devastates Sang-gil because he realizes that he has unknowingly spent fourteen years with his own son. Tae-ha became one of his most loyal men, fought for him, protected his interests, and followed his orders without either of them knowing their true connection. Sang-gil's entire relationship with Tae-ha suddenly takes on a completely different meaning. When Tae-ha arrives to rescue his grandmother, Sang-gil is still struggling to process the revelation. Tae-ha chases him outside, eventually tackling him and taking possession of Sang-gil's gun. In the heat of the confrontation, Tae-ha points the weapon at the man he believes is simply the criminal boss who destroyed so much of his life. He has no idea that the man standing in front of him is actually his biological father. Eun-sae and the police arrive as the confrontation reaches its most dangerous point. Sang-gil realizes that Tae-ha may actually kill him, something that would destroy Tae-ha's future and potentially send him to prison. Instead of allowing his son to become a murderer, Sang-gil wrestles the gun away from Tae-ha and turns it on himself. He dies in front of Tae-ha, taking the truth of their biological relationship with him. Tae-ha is left completely unaware that the man responsible for so much of his suffering was also his father. With Sang-gil finally gone and the criminal threat that has followed them throughout the series defeated, Tae-ha and Eun-sae are finally free to choose their own future. Eun-sae is understandably hurt by the lies Tae-ha told her at the beginning, but she also understands why he created the false relationship and protected her when he was ordered to kill her. More importantly, the feelings that developed between them during their time together were real. The story closes on a warm and emotional note rather than another twist. Tae-ha and Eun-sae remain together, surrounded by the people who became their family during the most difficult period of their lives. In Taffy Village, the place that began as a hiding place for Eun-sae becomes the setting for their new beginning. The two marry there, surrounded by the village family that helped bring them together. Episode 12 therefore completes every major emotional thread of Our Sticky Love: Eun-sae gets justice, Tae-ha escapes the criminal life that trapped him for fourteen years, Sang-gil finally faces the consequences of his crimes, the truth about Tae-ha's parentage is revealed to the audience, and Tae-ha and Eun-sae choose each other despite everything that happened between them. The series ends with the two protagonists together and happily married, turning the strange lie that began their relationship into a genuine love story.
