Our Universe Episode 7 begins immediately after Hyun-jin discovers someone inside her apartment. She screams in shock, and Yoon-seong rushes to her side. The mysterious man explains that he found the front door open and had only intended to wait outside. But his explanation becomes even more surprising when he asks whether this is Woo-jin's home. Hyun-jin immediately wants to know how he knows her late brother-in-law's name. The man finally reveals his identity: he is Woo-jin's father — and therefore Tae-hyung's estranged father. Tae-hyung hears Hyun-jin's scream over the phone and races home. His first reaction is not to question the stranger but to make sure Hyun-jin is safe. He checks her for injuries and is visibly upset that she did not answer his calls. When he finally looks at the older man, however, he does not recognise him. The man recognises Tae-hyung immediately and breaks down in tears, touching his face and apologising for being too late. After more than twenty years apart, Tae-hyung is suddenly standing face-to-face with the father who disappeared from his life when he was a child. Tae-hyung refuses to accept the reunion. He remembers being abandoned and having to grow up without the father who was supposed to protect him. His father's apology does little to soften him. Tae-hyung tells him that he has already lived his life without him and does not want him suddenly returning and demanding the role of a father. He asks him to stay away and says they should continue living separate lives as they have been doing for years. A flashback reveals why Tae-hyung's father disappeared. He had become trapped by serious financial problems and debts, eventually leaving his children behind while trying to escape the people he owed money to. Although his disappearance was connected to circumstances he believed he could not control, Tae-hyung experienced it simply as abandonment. The episode makes it clear that the wounds from his childhood are still very much alive. Yoon-seong remains concerned about the earlier break-in. He suspects that the mysterious visitor may not have been responsible for the original intrusion and worries that Hyun-jin could still be in danger. Before leaving, he helps make sure the apartment is secure and later arranges for the damaged lock to be replaced. His concern for Hyun-jin is becoming increasingly obvious, and he tells Tae-hyung that he expects him to protect her as well. Hyun-jin picks Woo-joo up from the neighbour's home and returns to the apartment. She notices a scrape on her hand and Tae-hyung immediately takes care of it, quietly wrapping the injury for her. Despite the tension caused by his father, he remains focused on Hyun-jin and Woo-joo. Hyun-jin later tries to talk to Tae-hyung about his father, hoping that he might consider giving the older man a chance. Tae-hyung becomes defensive and accuses her of taking his father's side without understanding what he went through. While Tae-hyung tries to keep his father at a distance, the older man begins quietly integrating himself into the apartment community. He helps the neighbours with small tasks, picks up rubbish and gradually earns their trust. He does not force himself into Tae-hyung's life, but he clearly hopes to see his son again. His behaviour makes it harder for Hyun-jin to simply view him as the selfish man Tae-hyung remembers from childhood. Tae-hyung eventually admits to his friend that something about his current home has changed. The apartment he shares with Hyun-jin and Woo-joo has begun to feel like a real home — something completely different from the lonely environment he remembers from childhood. The realisation makes his father's sudden return even more uncomfortable because it forces him to confront the family life he lost and the new family he has unexpectedly built. At BS Food, Hyun-jin's work becomes increasingly difficult. Her team's GloMarket proposal has been selected as an important company project, but a serious problem emerges when a rival company submits a remarkably similar proposal. Suspicion immediately falls on Hyun-jin because she is the team's contract employee. Some colleagues begin whispering that she may have leaked the proposal, leaving Hyun-jin humiliated and frustrated. Yoon-seong refuses to abandon her. He finds Hyun-jin upset and encourages her not to let the rumours destroy her confidence. He reminds her that she earned her place on the team through her own ability. Hyun-jin decides that the best response is to prove herself through the work rather than argue with the people accusing her. The GloMarket presentation creates another problem. Senior management decides that the pitch should be delivered by someone with more experience rather than Hyun-jin. Yoon-seong disagrees. Instead of allowing management to simply replace her, he proposes a competition between Hyun-jin and the more experienced employee. Whoever delivers the stronger presentation will get the opportunity to present the final GloMarket proposal. The management team accepts the challenge. Hyun-jin throws herself into preparing for the competition. She works late, studies the target customers and develops a plan around Korean tteokbokki. Tae-hyung becomes involved as well through his photography work. He helps her test the visual concept by photographing foreign models and arranging for them to taste the dish. The project gives them another chance to work side-by-side, and Tae-hyung quietly becomes one of the people Hyun-jin relies on most. Their relationship continues to develop through these small moments. During the outdoor photoshoot, Hyun-jin watches Tae-hyung work and sees a more confident, professional side of him. She is proud of how talented he is, while Tae-hyung enjoys having an excuse to spend time with her. When the weather suddenly changes and rain begins falling, they run together looking for shelter. Once they are safely under cover, Tae-hyung tells Hyun-jin that although he cannot be her umbrella forever, he can stay beside her until the rain stops. Hyun-jin responds that she will also stay on his side. The exchange is simple but meaningful, especially because rain has become connected to both of their painful memories. For Tae-hyung, Hyun-jin's promise reinforces the feeling that she is someone who will not abandon him. Meanwhile, the romantic tension between Tae-hyung and Yoon-seong continues to build. Yoon-seong tells Hyun-jin that once the GloMarket project is finished, they should go on a date. Tae-hyung later reminds Hyun-jin that he has already confessed his feelings and that he is still waiting for her answer. Hyun-jin feels overwhelmed by the attention from both men and decides that she needs to concentrate on the project rather than choose between them immediately. The day of the GloMarket pitch finally arrives. Hyun-jin presents her team's concept confidently, using footage of foreign customers tasting the tteokbokki and describing how much they enjoyed it. The presentation connects with the executives, and her team wins the competition. After months of doubting herself and dealing with workplace gossip, Hyun-jin finally gets the professional validation she has been fighting for. She immediately shares the good news with Tae-hyung. He is genuinely thrilled for her and takes Woo-joo to buy a cake so they can celebrate together. The small gesture shows how naturally he has become part of Hyun-jin's support system. He is proud of her success even though he receives nothing from it himself. On her way home, Hyun-jin is caught in another sudden rain shower. Before she can find shelter, Yoon-seong appears with an umbrella. He stands beside her and reminds her of his promise to support her. With the GloMarket project finally finished, he no longer wants to hide behind their professional relationship. Yoon-seong tells Hyun-jin directly that he likes her. The confession comes immediately after her professional victory and puts her in an even more difficult emotional position. She now has Tae-hyung, the man who has become her unexpected partner at home and has openly confessed his feelings, and Yoon-seong, her first love who has returned to her life and is now openly pursuing her. Episode 7 ends with the love triangle reaching a new level while Tae-hyung's family history becomes an equally important part of the story. His father's return forces him to confront the abandonment that shaped his personality, while Hyun-jin's success at work gives her new confidence. At the same time, Yoon-seong's confession makes it impossible for Hyun-jin to keep postponing the question of who she truly wants by her side.
