The footage contains evidence concerning what really happened on the yacht and reveals that Kang Min-hwan was directly involved in the death of his younger brother, Kang Ji-hwan. The old accident was not simply an unfortunate tragedy. Min-hwan had deliberately let go of Ji-hwan's hand when Ji-hwan was desperately asking his brother not to release him. Ji-hwan fell into the water and died, while Min-hwan allowed the incident to be treated as an accident. Seung-jae realizes that the recording could destroy Min-hwan. He uses the evidence as leverage and demands money and an escape plan in exchange for keeping the footage secret. Instead of negotiating honestly, Min-hwan decides to eliminate the threat. He attacks Seung-jae and causes his death, choosing murder to protect the secret of what happened twelve years earlier. Min-hwan's actions mark a major turning point because his obsession with Yeo-ri and his desire for power have now escalated into deliberate killing. Min-hwan then creates a plan to make Yeo-ri appear responsible for Seung-jae's death. He contacts Yeo-ri and lures her toward the location where Seung-jae's body is found. When Gang-uk and the police arrive at the scene, they discover Yeo-ri there holding a blood-covered iron pipe. Her sacrifice leaves her caught between life and death, while Gang-uk is left devastated by the possibility that the woman he loves may die after trying to save him. At the same time, Min-hwan's actions have reached their most dangerous point: he has killed Seung-jae, attempted to frame Yeo-ri for murder, and ordered an attack against Gang-uk.
