The Early Spring Episode 2 picks up after Shang Zhitao's frightening encounter outside her apartment. The person following her turns out to be her new roommate, Sun Yuanzhu, who has simply returned home carrying food and chili sauce. The misunderstanding leaves everyone startled, but it also gives Shang Zhitao a chance to learn more about her new roommates. Sun Yu and Sun Yuanzhu gradually become more familiar with her, creating the beginnings of a comfortable friendship in their shared home. At Lingmei Advertising, Luan Nian and his team face a difficult business problem when one of their important clients is taken by another team. Instead of dwelling on the loss, Luan Nian immediately turns his attention toward a much larger opportunity. He decides to pursue a new commercial project and prepares to travel to Guangzhou with Lumi and Shang Zhitao. Although Shang Zhitao is still a newcomer, Lumi believes her careful and persistent personality could be useful to the team. At the airport, Shang Zhitao studies English while waiting for the flight. When she offers to buy coffee for Luan Nian and Lumi, Luan Nian dismisses the unnecessary politeness and tells her not to waste energy trying to please people. His cold manner continues to confuse her, especially because he seems to criticize almost everything she does. Nevertheless, Shang Zhitao remains determined to prove herself rather than allowing his attitude to discourage her. After arriving in Guangzhou, the team begins negotiations with Laiyu, a production company connected to the commercial project. The company's manager is reluctant to cooperate with Luan Nian because of an old disagreement between them. Luan Nian's previous decisions left the man unwilling to forgive him, creating an immediate obstacle for the project. Rather than forcing the issue, Luan Nian begins looking for another way to change the situation. Lumi investigates Laiyu's recent work and discovers that director Tian Zheng could be the key to moving the negotiations forward. Shang Zhitao volunteers to help and finds a way to approach the director directly. She enters the filming environment, observes how the production operates and eventually presents an opportunity connected to the commercial project. Her willingness to take initiative surprises Luan Nian and Lumi. Shang Zhitao's approach proves successful. By establishing contact with Tian Zheng and creating a potential opportunity for the production team, she helps remove the biggest obstacle standing between Lingmei and Laiyu.
