Episode 46 of The Nightfall (Bir Gece Masalı) continues the complicated relationship between Mahir and Canfeza as the consequences of Mahir's earlier lies continue to affect their marriage. Canfeza remains angry with Mahir and refuses to simply overlook the things that have hurt her, even as her feelings for him remain strong. Determined to stand on her own feet, Canfeza begins focusing on establishing herself and starting a business. She wants to prove that she can build something of her own rather than remain dependent on the people around her. Her determination also brings her into contact with new problems that quickly become more serious than she expected. A visitor arrives at the mansion and becomes the target of Canfeza's anger. Instead of backing down, Canfeza makes it clear that she knows her place in the Yilmaz household and refuses to allow anyone to treat her without respect. Her actions reveal a stronger and more confident side of her personality to the entire family. Canfeza's efforts to move forward with her work eventually put her in a difficult situation. Once again, Mahir becomes the person who steps in to protect her and help her escape the trouble surrounding her. Although Mahir clearly cannot stay away when Canfeza is in danger, he continues to resist giving her the apology she wants. The distance between them becomes increasingly painful for Mahir. Even while Canfeza is angry with him, staying away from her proves extremely difficult. His feelings are obvious through his actions, but his refusal to openly apologize leaves Canfeza questioning whether Mahir truly loves her or whether there is something deeper behind his behavior. Episode 46 therefore places Canfeza's independence and her doubts about Mahir at the center of the story. As she tries to establish herself and Mahir once again protects her when she gets into trouble, their love remains caught between strong emotions, unresolved secrets and a growing lack of trust.
