Our Universe Episode 2 — Hindi Dubbed

Our Universe Episode 2 picks up with Woo Hyun-jin trying to accept the reality that has been forced upon her. After losing her sister and brother-in-law, she returns to the home they once shared with little Woo-joo. Inside, she discovers a room her sister had prepared for her, along with a heartfelt note. The sight brings back painful memories of the things Hyun-jin said to her sister before the accident, and the guilt finally catches up with her. Just when she is wondering how she will possibly support herself and Woo-joo, she receives an unexpected message from BS Food informing her that she has made it through the application stage and has been invited for an interview. Tae-hyung is dealing with the tragedy in his own way. He visits his close friend Eui-joon and tries to pretend that he is simply celebrating his new life away from the family home. But eventually he admits that he attended Woo-jin's funeral. While everyone else was crying for his brother, Tae-hyung could not bring himself to shed a tear. What keeps bothering him is something much simpler: Woo-jin had called him shortly before the fatal accident and said that there was something important he needed to tell him. Tae-hyung cannot stop wondering what his brother wanted to say. Meanwhile, Hyun-jin quickly discovers that looking after a twenty-month-old child is far more difficult than she imagined. Woo-joo refuses the food she prepares, becomes upset easily and constantly asks for his mother. Her friend Se-yeon comes over to help and tries to give Hyun-jin practical advice while also encouraging her to attend the BS Food interview. Hyun-jin is determined to get the job because a stable income would mean that Woo-joo can grow up without worrying about food, clothes or the basics of life. At BS Food, another important character enters the story. Team Leader Park Yun-seong is introduced as an ambitious and capable employee who knows how to impress the company's directors. While preparing for a presentation, he comes across the list of interview candidates and notices Hyun-jin's name. His reaction suggests that he may already know her, creating a small mystery around their connection. The interview creates an immediate problem for Hyun-jin: there is nobody available to look after Woo-joo. After asking around and exhausting her options, she finally turns to the one person she knows the child seems to trust — Tae-hyung. He reluctantly agrees to help, but only because the circumstances leave him with little choice. Woo-joo immediately becomes attached to him, following him around and refusing to let go of his pants. Hyun-jin takes this as proof that the two of them might actually be able to raise the child together, but Tae-hyung insists that he has no intention of becoming Woo-joo's guardian. During Hyun-jin's interview, Tae-hyung takes Woo-joo to his apartment. His attempt at childcare quickly becomes a disaster. He feeds the toddler hamburgers and fries, lets him make a complete mess of the apartment and struggles to keep up with his energy. When Woo-joo calls him "Dad," Tae-hyung is visibly caught off guard. His carefully controlled life is suddenly being invaded by a child he never planned to raise. Hyun-jin's interview itself reveals why the job matters so much to her. She talks about her sister's cooking and the memories attached to food, explaining that she wants to create food that can give people the same kind of emotional comfort. Her sincerity leaves an impression, but while she is trying to secure her future, Tae-hyung's day with Woo-joo continues to fall apart. His phone is damaged after being dropped and crushed, and by the time Hyun-jin comes out, Woo-joo has made a spectacular mess. The two immediately start arguing again. Hyun-jin criticises Tae-hyung for his chaotic childcare, while Tae-hyung points out that he never agreed to become a babysitter in the first place. Their argument is interrupted when they realise Woo-joo has wandered away. They panic and search for him, eventually finding him happily playing near a fountain. The scare reminds both adults just how serious their responsibility has become. Back at home, Hyun-jin continues trying to manage life with Woo-joo while Tae-hyung returns to his own place. For the first time, however, his apartment feels strangely empty. He had complained about Woo-joo disrupting his life, yet without the child there, the silence bothers him. His attempt to return to normal becomes even more difficult when the renovation of his new home goes wrong. A burst water pipe floods the apartment, meaning he cannot move in for roughly another month. With nowhere else to go, Tae-hyung eventually turns up at Hyun-jin's house. She is shocked when he announces that he is going to stay there. He argues that she previously suggested the two of them raise Woo-joo together, and now circumstances have made that arrangement unavoidable. Hyun-jin refuses to accept the idea at first, insisting that they are not a real family and that living together would be ridiculous. Tae-hyung counters by pointing out that he has nowhere else to stay and that Woo-joo clearly wants him around. After some hilarious back-and-forth, the three settle into an awkward temporary arrangement. Tae-hyung begins helping around the house and proves unexpectedly capable at taking care of Woo-joo. Hyun-jin tries not to be impressed, especially after receiving confirmation that she has passed the BS Food interview. Her happiness is mixed with sadness because the person who would have been happiest for her — her sister — is no longer there to hear the news. Hyun-jin later discusses the situation with Se-yeon. She complains that she now has to live under the same roof as a man she barely gets along with, but Se-yeon points out the obvious advantage: Tae-hyung can help with Woo-joo while Hyun-jin works. Hiring a professional babysitter would cost far more than she can afford, so Hyun-jin reluctantly begins to see their forced living arrangement as a practical solution. By the end of the episode, Tae-hyung and Hyun-jin finally stop fighting long enough to negotiate some rules. They agree that he can stay temporarily, with the arrangement centred around taking care of Woo-joo and sharing the responsibilities of the household. What begins as an unwilling compromise becomes their first real step toward becoming co-parents. They put the terms of their unusual living situation into a cohabitation agreement, officially turning two reluctant in-laws into roommates — and setting the stage for the slow, messy relationship that will grow between them.
