Our Universe Episode 6 begins immediately after Tae-hyung finally admits that he likes Hyun-jin. Still recovering from his fever, he explains that she is the first person who has ever waited for him to come home and the first person who has made him feel that someone would not simply leave him behind. Hyun-jin is caught completely off guard by the confession, especially because their relationship has always been defined as a temporary arrangement for Woo-joo. Before she can properly respond, their neighbour arrives with food, giving her an unexpected escape from the awkward moment. The next morning, Hyun-jin is visibly uncomfortable around Tae-hyung and quickly leaves for work. On her way, she receives good news from Saetbyeol Daycare: a place has opened for Woo-joo. She is relieved because finding reliable childcare has been one of the biggest problems in their unusual household. She messages Tae-hyung and asks him to take Woo-joo to daycare. Tae-hyung prepares Woo-joo and takes him to Saetbyeol Daycare. The teacher initially assumes that Tae-hyung is the child's father, but he quickly corrects her and explains that he is Woo-joo's uncle. When the teacher asks him to leave an emergency contact, Tae-hyung writes his name down as Woo-joo's guardian. The small detail quietly shows how much his role in the child's life has changed. Before Tae-hyung leaves, the teacher tells him that Woo-joo needs reassurance that he will return. The advice touches something deep inside Tae-hyung because he remembers what it felt like to wait for someone who never came back. Instead of simply walking away, he crouches down and tells Woo-joo that he has to go to work to earn money for his diapers and that Hyun-jin will come to pick him up later. Woo-joo hugs him before returning to the classroom. Tae-hyung walks away emotional, realising that he cannot make Woo-joo experience the same kind of abandonment he once felt himself. After leaving the daycare, Tae-hyung sends Hyun-jin an update. He tries to send her a photograph of Woo-joo but accidentally sends a selfie of himself instead. Hyun-jin is surprised by the unexpected photo, and Se-yeon notices her reaction. When Se-yeon asks what is happening between them, Hyun-jin finally reveals that Tae-hyung confessed his feelings. Se-yeon immediately points out that Hyun-jin now has two men who clearly care about her: Tae-hyung and Yoon-seong. Hyun-jin admits that Yoon-seong was her first love, but she insists that she does not want to think about romance right now. Her priorities are Woo-joo and building a stable career. Even so, she admits that Tae-hyung has started to affect her. She has come to rely on him, understands the loneliness he carries and recognises that he has been hurt badly in the past. She still cannot bring herself to see him as a romantic partner, however, because their relationship began as an arrangement between in-laws. Meanwhile, Tae-hyung receives new responsibilities from Jo Moo-saeng, who is working with photographer Amy Choo. Tae-hyung becomes Amy's assistant and joins her on a professional shoot. Despite initially treating the assignment as another temporary job, he proves capable and quickly earns Moo-saeng's respect. His photography career begins moving forward again at the same time that his personal life is becoming increasingly complicated. Yoon-seong continues spending time with Hyun-jin through their work at BS Food. He takes her to a cafe and remembers her preferred drink, showing that he still remembers details from their past. Hyun-jin is touched but remains uncertain about what his renewed interest means. At the same time, Tae-hyung learns that the renovation of his own apartment is finally complete. The news surprises him because almost a month has passed since he moved into Hyun-jin's home. Tae-hyung knows that their original one-month arrangement is coming to an end. Rather than pressuring Hyun-jin for an answer to his confession, he tells her that he meant what he said but will not force her to respond. He only wanted her to know how he feels. The two agree to continue behaving as they did before and to avoid making Woo-joo uncomfortable with the tension between them. That night, their situation takes a darker turn. A suspicious man wearing a black hat approaches the apartment building and appears to be checking the homes of women who live alone. He gets close to their door but leaves when Woo-joo starts crying inside. The next day, neighbours tell Tae-hyung that a suspicious man has been seen around the building and that several apartments have been robbed. Tae-hyung immediately becomes concerned for Hyun-jin and tells her to come home early for the next few days. Hyun-jin initially tries to reassure him that she will be fine, but Tae-hyung's concern is obvious. He visits his newly completed apartment and finds it polished, spacious and ready for him to move in. Yet instead of being happy, he starts looking for reasons not to leave. He asks the contractor about small improvements and problems that do not really matter, revealing that he is already reluctant to return to living alone. That evening, Hyun-jin falls asleep on the bus and misses her stop. By the time she gets off, it is dark. Remembering Tae-hyung's warning about the suspicious man, she becomes nervous when she notices someone following her through the poorly lit streets. She starts running and suddenly encounters Tae-hyung, who has come looking for her. The stranger disappears before Tae-hyung can confront him. Tae-hyung is relieved that Hyun-jin is safe but angry that she tried to handle the situation alone. He asks her to promise that she will call him whenever she is frightened or needs help. He then gives her pepper spray for protection and tells her to keep it until the police catch the culprit. Hyun-jin is touched by how seriously he is looking after her. The pepper spray lesson quickly turns into one of their typical chaotic moments. Hyun-jin does not know how to use it, so Tae-hyung demonstrates. He accidentally sprays himself directly in the eyes and immediately starts suffering from the burning sensation. Hyun-jin helps wash his eyes in the bathroom. When she tries to move away, she slips on the wet floor and Tae-hyung catches her. Their faces are suddenly close, and the moment leaves both of them visibly flustered. The following day, Tae-hyung arrives at BS Food with Amy Choo and her team for a new GloMarket campaign. Hyun-jin is surprised to see him at her workplace, and their presence creates an unexpected connection between her team and Amy's photography company. Yoon-seong takes charge of the business meeting and proposes that everyone go out together afterward. The group eventually heads to a bowling alley. Someone recognises Tae-hyung and Hyun-jin from the earlier viral lobby incident, forcing them to explain that they are not a dating couple but in-laws. Tae-hyung and Yoon-seong then become increasingly competitive with each other. Their rivalry spills into a bowling match, with both men clearly trying to impress Hyun-jin. Tae-hyung wins the match. In the excitement, he instinctively hugs Hyun-jin, leaving her surprised and Yoon-seong visibly uncomfortable. The moment makes the growing rivalry between the two men impossible to ignore. Moo-saeng then tells Tae-hyung that they need to return to the studio, so Tae-hyung leaves with him while Yoon-seong offers Hyun-jin a ride home. On the drive, Yoon-seong and Hyun-jin stop near the Han River to watch the fireworks. The scene brings back memories of their college days, when Yoon-seong had once asked Hyun-jin to watch fireworks with him. Their conversation reveals that the breakup years earlier was not caused by a lack of feelings. Hyun-jin had discovered that Yoon-seong gave up a scholarship opportunity because of his concern for her financial situation. Rather than let him sacrifice his future for her, she told him that she was leaving for a language program and deliberately created distance between them. Yoon-seong admits that he eventually understood what she had done. Hyun-jin finally explains that she had been too proud to admit how difficult her financial situation was at the time. The conversation brings closure to part of their old relationship, while the fireworks create an emotional reminder of what they once shared. Yoon-seong drives Hyun-jin home and waits until she reaches the building safely. As she walks upstairs, she calls Tae-hyung and tells him she has arrived. Tae-hyung is relieved to hear her voice and asks when she will be home. But Hyun-jin suddenly notices something wrong: the front door of their apartment is open. She tells Tae-hyung that she definitely closed the door when she left. He immediately becomes concerned and asks what is happening. Hyun-jin cautiously approaches the open doorway and realises that someone is inside. Before she can understand who it is, she screams. Episode 6 ends on a suspenseful cliffhanger. Tae-hyung's confession has changed the emotional dynamic between the leads, while Yoon-seong's return has created a genuine love triangle. At the same time, the mysterious intruder introduces a dangerous new threat to the little family they have built. What started as a temporary co-parenting arrangement is now becoming something far more complicated.
