Min Jeong-woo, who is competing alongside Hui-ju, encourages her throughout the match. The memory shows that Yi-an's connection with Hui-ju began long before their present-day marriage proposal, and that he had already noticed her fierce determination and refusal to accept discrimination. Back in the present, Episode 2 picks up directly after Hui-ju's shocking proposal to Yi-an. Rather than immediately accepting, Yi-an asks her to explain her terms. Hui-ju confidently presents herself almost like a business proposal. She points to her wealth, her success as a businesswoman, her ability to deal with difficult situations, and even her beauty. She believes that together they would make a powerful match. Yi-an, however, is not interested in treating marriage as a business transaction. He tells her that he wants to marry for love and ultimately rejects her proposal. Hui-ju refuses to take the rejection seriously. Instead of backing away, she decides to win Yi-an over. She studies his habits and begins appearing wherever he goes. She follows him around during his time away from official royal duties, turning ordinary moments such as meals, horse riding, visiting a cat shelter, watching a movie and exercising into opportunities to get closer to him. Her directness repeatedly catches Yi-an off guard, while Choi-hyun is left trying to understand how Hui-ju can be so fearless around a Grand Prince. Yi-an insists that love is important to him, so Hui-ju decides that if love is what he wants, she will simply make him fall for her. Her pursuit becomes both comedic and calculated. She openly tells him that she has no intention of giving up, while Yi-an tries to maintain his distance. Their interactions reveal an increasingly obvious attraction beneath their arguments, even though Hui-ju continues to view the relationship primarily as a practical way to secure the status she has been denied all her life. Meanwhile, Yi-an's royal position continues to place him under pressure. Choi-hyun keeps him informed about Hui-ju's movements and becomes suspicious of her sudden interest in the Grand Prince. She also uses the occasion to tease Yi-an, asking him for a gift after receiving her award. Yi-an responds that she has already received one, maintaining their playful tension in front of the royal audience. After the ceremony, Hui-ju celebrates her achievement while Yi-an's condition becomes increasingly serious. His fever worsens, but he does not want his illness to become a public spectacle. Rather than immediately returning to the palace, he goes to a hotel to rest quietly. Coincidentally, Hui-ju is staying at the same hotel. When she discovers that Yi-an is sick, her attitude changes. Instead of simply chasing him romantically, she becomes genuinely concerned and calls a doctor to examine him. Choi-hyun worries that Yi-an's illness could create another royal controversy. If the public discovers that the Grand Prince is secretly sick and staying in a hotel with Hui-ju, rumors are inevitable. Their concerns become reality when Queen Mother Yi-rang unexpectedly arrives at the hotel. Choi-hyun desperately tries to prevent her from discovering Hui-ju, but the attempt fails. Yi-rang finds evidence that Hui-ju is there and realizes that the situation can be used against Yi-an. By the next morning, photographs from the hotel have reached the media. Reports begin circulating that Hui-ju and Grand Prince Yi-an are secretly dating. The rumors become even more sensational when speculation spreads that Hui-ju could be pregnant. The completely unexpected scandal quickly becomes a national talking point. Hui-ju's secretary urges her to remain inside the hotel while the public and media attempt to uncover the truth behind the photographs. Rather than panic, Hui-ju surprisingly sees the scandal as useful publicity. She has never been afraid of attention, and the controversy suddenly places her name alongside the royal family. Yi-rang, however, sees the situation differently. The scandal threatens Yi-an's reputation and gives the Queen Mother another opportunity to pressure him. Prime Minister Min Jeong-woo also recognizes that the controversy could distract the public from other political issues surrounding the government. Yi-an eventually meets Hui-ju privately and apologizes for the situation, knowing that she is likely to receive much of the public criticism despite the fact that the rumors are misleading. He asks her once again what she actually wants. Hui-ju gives him a clear answer: she still wants to marry him. This time, Hui-ju explains the real reason behind her determination. She does not pretend that she has suddenly fallen in love with Yi-an. She wants the royal title because her entire life has been shaped by the fact that society considers her a commoner. She has worked harder than people born into privilege, built a successful business and repeatedly proven her abilities, yet noble blood continues to matter more than achievement. By marrying Yi-an, she believes she can finally break through the barrier that has always stood between her and the status she deserves. Yi-an is initially offended by Hui-ju's blunt reasoning because she is essentially choosing him for his royal title. However, the situation has changed. The public scandal has already connected their names, the Queen Mother is applying increasing pressure, and Yi-an understands that a marriage with Hui-ju could potentially give both of them a way to control their own futures. Instead of rejecting her again, he makes a decisive announcement. Yi-an tells Hui-ju to prepare herself because she will become his wife. His decision transforms Hui-ju's rejected proposal into the beginning of an unexpected royal marriage.
